Pont Alexander III.

Hello, fashion readers!

Here a post about my favorite bridge in Paris: Pont Alexander III

Standing on it, wherever you look this bridge is a real beauty and the ornaments are insane! The bridge connects the Champs Elysees quarter with Invalides and the  Eiffel Tower. It’s the most ornamented, extravagant bridge in the city, packed with exuberant Art Nouveau lamps, cherubs, nymphs and winged horses. I was built between 1896 and 1900. It is named after Tsar Alexander III who had concluded the Franco Russian Alliance in 1892. His little son Nicholas II laid the foundation stone in October 1896. The style of the bridge looks just like that of the Grand Palais, to which it leads to the right bank.

In the same political spirit, the Trinity Bridge in Saint Petersburg (Russia) was conceived. It is a memorial to the same Franco-Russian Alliance.

Trinity Bridge was designed by Gustave Eiffel, and the first stone was laid in August 1897 by French president Felix Fauré

I always find it so weird to realize that they built the bridges so many years ago and that nowadays people from all over the world come to see it. There are a lot of spots where you can take a photo, as you can see.  And the bridge is wide and broad enough: you won’t be bothered by other people.
